Tethering my careless exuberance
Through the course of humbling chastisement and no-doubt impending punishment, it has come to my attention that I have been something of a lazy submissive when it comes to the subject of personal responsibility and safety. Before very recently, I had never seriously thought about personal rules for myself in regards to these prominent points, and I’m now realizing just how lucky I am to have made it unscathed thus far. In honor of forging forward from foolishness to foresight, I’m posting my list of unbreakables here:
The Rules
1.) Think before speaking, typing, or playing.
2.) No personal info of any kind until I’ve verified theirs.
3.) No playing in public until I can learn to play responsibly.
4.) No playing with strangers.
5.) No playing until after 2 public meetings and discussion of limits & experience.
6.) Ultimately, only I am responsible for my safety-no one else. No one can shoulder this responsibility for me, just as no one can rob me of it. If a situation becomes unsafe, it’s my duty to remove myself.
7.) Along the same lines, no play without specific pre-determined parameters.
8.) Never play with someone using drugs or who’s had more than 2 drinks.
9.) Do not withhold information about limits just because I think it might be disappointing.
10.) Take it slow: exercise patience & common sense; enjoy the anticipation.
11.) No play or marks that could hinder me professionally.
